navelim-panchayat-gallery11The River Bank Filtration project launched in the Village of Navelim on 27/1/2016  by The Energy and Resources Institute & University of Rhode Island in Co-Ordination with Village Panchayat of Navelim. Shri. R.K. Pachauri (Director General of TERI) who remained present for the inauguration function sounded the warning of Global warming and Goa`s vulnerability for the same, since effected by a coastal line. It is emphasized that water level is rising gradually due to melting glaciers in the Antartica and the Saline water is to take course to inland waters and this simple technology will help to provide clean water not only for irrigation but for Drinking purpose.

This is the fist Project of its kind taken up in the state of Goa and the people at large are invited to take a glimpse and feel its necessity within the simplest measures that could be adopted with the help of technology. It is commendable to note that this method of natural filtration does not use any type of Chemicals.
